This beautiful 24" Am. Doll Co. Doll is in near original condition.  Her paint is all original except a careful touch up on her right eye.  She is a well loved doll and has very minor wear. Someone has replaced her joint hardware on her arms and legs.  Her muslin body is clean and without odor, it has been repaired at the shoulders at some point in her life.  I re glued her head to her body with archival quality glue. She has a mute crier.  She has her original excelsior stuffing. Her head flange has some minor discoloration and a craze line that has also been secured with an archival grade glue.

She has been redressed in a rose pink 100% cotton voile dress and bloomers with antique 100%  cotton cluny lace trim very similar to the dress Am. Doll Co. used for the doll at the time of original sale. Her dress has an antique pin at the neckline.  I did have to give in and use satin ribbon for her dress sash.  She has a new 100% cotton voile under slip trimmed with 100% cotton picot lace trim -  new old stock from the 1940's.  Her feet are dressed with her sewn on boots.

The American DollCompany was owned and operated by Bayless Brothers & Company ofLouisville, KY USA. They made both molded hair girl and boy dolls, Chubbytype dolls and Bye-Lo Baby type dolls. They weren't around for longand not a lot is known about the company.  I did include a picture of my inspiration for her outfit in the listing.  The picture was taken from Collector's Encyclopedia of American Composition Dolls1900-1950: Identification and Values by Ursula Mertz.

She is a beautiful doll and will be a wonderful addition to your doll collection.
